I
am Syifa Rofiana Kuswandi, a level 4 majoring in Information Systems from
Gunadarma University. With this letter, I express my interest to participate in
the graduate program for a master's degree in Information Technology in
September 2018.
When
I wanted to continue my undergraduate education, my father advised me to major
in Information Systems because he also majored in Information Systems while
studying undergraduate (S1). According to my father, information technology
will be more developed and needed by humans in every work. Finally I majored in
Information Systems. At the beginning of my college, I felt it was difficult,
but eventually I was able to adjust, keep learning, understanding, and
interested in Information Technology.
During
my college days, I realized that information technology is increasing. Almost
all jobs in any field use a computer to facilitate humans in doing their work.
During college I studied a variety of programming languages. I once created a
desktop application on data mining using an apriori algorithm to find out which
brand of cars are sold in my uncle's showroom. After I made the application, I
was more interested to deepen Information Technology especially data
processing.
My
experience during college was to become an assistant and chairperson at an
Information Systems Laboratory. An assistant has an obligation to bring
material each week to students, so that students can understand the programming
language taught during the lab. An assistant should be able to master the
programming language taught, and can answer questions from students / coed. A
chairman has an obligation to lead the way practically, firmly, guide the
assistant, be able to make decisions when the lab lasts. From my experience I
learned how to deal with many people, responsible during lab work, working with
friends, and getting lots of friends.
After
I graduated from my undergraduate education (S1), I am interested in continuing
my education to master level (S2) in Information Technology. I want to continue
my master's Education at the University of Plymouth, UK. The growing
availability of large amounts of data in business and industry led me to major
in Data Science and Business Analytics. I take the majors because I want to
deepen my knowledge in the field of Information Technology, especially in data
processing, how to handle, and exploit big data.
At
the University of Plymouth, students use advanced analytical techniques,
including social network visualization and sentiment analysis, and professional
software packages, including R dplyr and ggplot2 students will gain the skills
and knowledge to transform data into commercial value and improve workability
college student.
I
look forward to my Master's degree at the University of Plymouth. This
opportunity is a very rewarding and enjoyable experience for me where I can
improve my ability to handle data, gain knowledge, gain friends, and be able to
learn the cultures that exist in the UK.
Thank
